Become a Book Blaster!

Let's begin a dialog about what we're reading during REP, in our free time, or in class this year!  Students and staff members are encouraged to offer their comments and opinions about books throughout the year.  To access Book Blast!, you must first sign in just using your normal network ID and password.  Then you can participate in Book Blast! by either adding a comment to a book that has already been reviewed or by making a new posting.

To share your opinions about a book title already posted at left, click on the title.  Select View Approved Comments to read what others have written, or Post a Comment to add your own thoughts.  The first time you do this, you will be prompted to create a profile.  Type in your name and e-mail address -- your regular network logon with the first three letters of your first name, the first five letters of your last name and @rtmsd.org (example below) -- to verify who is contributing.  Finally, type your comments in the box provided and click Post Comment.

Example of e-mail address for John Smith: johsmith@rtmsd.org.

To create a new posting you must type your posting into Word and then select SAVE AS, find the L drive (...it begins with APPS...), Courses, Book Blog, and then save your file in the shared folder marked for your grade: 6th Grade Blogs, 7th Grade Blogs, or 8th Grade Blogs.  Your review will then be added as a new posting to the blog, and the title of your book will be listed in alphabetical order on the left of this page.  In  addition to your posting, please be sure to include your name, grade and the title and author of the book you're reviewing.  Save the file under the title of the book.

Mrs. Motley will serve as the moderator for the blog.  All of the comments do not have to be positive, but they do have to be appropriate for a school setting and respectful of other's opinions, even though you may happen to disagree with them.

Congratulations
