CREATING OPPORTUNITIES
The Educational Resource Center provides an alternative learning option for students to meet academic requirements to earn a high school diploma in a technologically sophisticated learning environment. Students benefit from the attention and support of a low student/teacher ratio and individualized academic plans that provide real-life learning opportunities in the community that include job shadowing, internships, and employment. In addition to learning core academic subjects, students work on acquiring experiences and the necessary skills that are aligned with their post-high school goals.
SUPPORTING STUDENTS
Students who elect to attend the ERC make a choice to participate in an individualized, self-paced program using a web-based academic software program called Novanet. They attend for either a morning or afternoon session to complete academic requirements and may participate in employment or internships for the remainder of the day to develop essential work skills. Students must meet the same graduation requirements in core academic areas necessary to earn a high school diploma from the
