• Communication Options for School Closings and Delays

When emergency messages are necessary, there are several methods of communication we use. We try to saturate the media with as many different forms to accommodate everyone's needs as best as we can. In the event of a failure of one form, we hope that another form of communication will deliver the message.

Please note all the following forms of communication that Rose Tree Media School District uses to get emergency messages out to all RTM families:

    Web Page Announcement
The top left corner of our district web page https://www.rtmsd.org will always have special announcements.

    Email Message
An email is always sent to all parents who have entered an email address on their emergency cards.

    Facebook Page
Rose Tree Media School District has a Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/rtmsd  If you "like" our Facebook page, it will appear in your News Feed with important information when necessary.

    Broadcast Phone Calls
School closing or delayed opening messages are sent to all Guardian 1 and Guardian 2 home phone numbers. In the event that the closure happens after school is in session, the phone calls are sent to Guardian 1 home phone and cell phone and Guardian 2 home phone and cell phone.

A daily transfer of information is imported from our Student Information System. If you change your phone number, email address, or cell phone number with the school office, these changes will automatically update.

Please remember that not all forms of communication will be 100% perfect every time. If in doubt, it is always best to check more than one source. Thank you for your patience, cooperation, and support as we work to get every family notified with important information.
