In 3rd grade, we focus on four units of study in science:
Land & Water
Electricity & Magnetism
These units encourage a hands-on, discovery approach to science.
Third graders receive fertilized eggs from the Delaware County 4H in the spring. Students learn about the developing eggs and watch the eggs hatch into chicks. When the chicks are about a week old, they return to the farm.
This site has diagrams of the inside of the egg and what is happening on each day inside the egg. It also has definitions of many chick and egg-related vocabulary words.
When do things happen inside the egg? Use this link to find out!
This page has the links to help you answer the questions on your worksheet about what is happening inside the egg.
