Teaching & Learning Overview

The Office of Teaching and Learning has primary responsibility to establish and maintain the curricula and instructional practices that enable students to “reach their intellectual, emotional, social and physical potential,” as stated in the district’s vision.  This responsibility includes providing support for a comprehensive K-12 instructional program based on our district’s mission, on acknowledged best practices, and on Pennsylvania academic standards.

The Directors of Teaching & Learning plan, coordinate, oversee, and evaluate the K-12 curriculum and support the supervisory system and professional development activities for teachers in all our schools.  They also oversee the program of testing and assessment in RTM, including classroom assessments, DIBELS, MAP, and PSSA assessments.

Some of the other areas listed below connect closely to the work in curriculum, instruction, and assessment, such as Academic Assistance Programs, Special Services, Libraries, and the Resource pages for parents and students.

The Directors of Teaching & Learning sincerely hope you find these pages informative and helpful.  Please contact them with any suggestions for improvement.  Thank you.
