Reading Olympics

What is Reading Olympics?

Each school year, Delaware County hosts this "celebration of reading" event.  Teams of students from schools across the county meet in the spring to compete against one another after reading designated books.  In the three-round competition, each school team competes to answer reading comprehension questions from the books.  The competition is friendly, fun, and spirited.  It is also very well attended and greatly anticipated by the nearly 1,000 student participants county-wide.

The official Reading Olympics team(s) for Indian Lane will form in September.  Fourth and fifth graders with a thirst for reading are encouraged to participate.  If you think you may be interested, please take a peek at the book list for this school year's competition.  Interested students should also carefully consider all expectations since participation does require additional reading and assignment deadlines.

Meetings are held before school at 8:00 a.m. usually twice a month.

ILES teams will participate on one of the following dates:

March 30, March 31, or April 1, 2019

Location: Marple Newtown High School in Marple Newtown S.D.
