    I would like to welcome you and your child to my class “S.T.E.M.”. school year your child will be engaging in a hands on exploratory series of activities which will teach him or her about Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math.

     In sixth grade the students will be exploring the world of flight technologies such as: water rockets, pneumtic rockets, gliders, and our flight simulator. Each unit will focus on the key components of STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math).

     In seventh grade the students will be using VEX IQ Robotic kits to explore simple machines, basic robotic automation, programming, sensors, and will design their own mars rover to explore an unknown territory, gather data, and gather artifacts.

     In eighth grade the students will work in teams to explore hovering technologies. Students will design and build magnetic levitation vehicles, prototype hovercrafts, and full size hovercrafts the students will be able to ride.

     
    All students are required to attend class with the following items each day
     
    teacher issued student portfolio
    pencil
    closed toe footwear
    Chromebook
    ruler
    eraser
    scissors (6th grade as needed for projects)
    glue stick (6th grade as needed for projects)
