I am the band director at Rose Tree Elementary School and Indian Lane Elementary School. I teach at Rose Tree Elementary every morning and at Indian Lane Elementary every afternoon.
I received Bachelors of Music in Jazz Guitar from Temple University. After graduation, I immediately went on to get my teaching certificate from West Chester University. I have always been interested in the way technology and music work together. That interest led me to Indiana University - Perdue University Indianapolis. They were one of the first universities in the country to offer a Masters in Music Technology. I have been happily teaching elementary band in the Rose Tree Media SD since 2002.
I live in Havertown with my wife, Michele and my two children, Jimmy (12) and Katie (8). When I am not teaching, I enjoy coaching baseball and softball, flag football, playing in rock bands, golf, home remodeling, mountain biking, kayaking, and building RC cars and model rockets with my kids. I am also an avid Philly sports fan.
If you have ever been to a flyers game you will hear one of my songs called "The Orange and the Black" being played after a victory. My brother and I cowrote the song. I sing backup vocals, play guitar, acoustic guitar, and accordion on the recording. No, I am not a good accordion player...it is one of the hardest instruments I have ever played...but I made it work for the recording! :-)
