Fact Sheet about K-1 Early Learning Center
The RTMSD K-1 Early Learning Center is designed to remedy multiple issues:
- Our crowded schools, with Glenwood and Rose Tree Elementary Schools forced to use modular classroom trailer units, will return to having the space for every student to learn, grow and thrive.
- Half-day kindergarten will expand to full-day kindergarten, giving our youngest learners the start they deserve.
- Our youngest students will enjoy the benefits of engaging learning spaces built specifically for children of their age and size.
The district will incur additional debt as the financing vehicle to pay for the new school. The debt service payments are paid out of the RTMSD operating budget that is approved annually. Annual budget increases must be at or below the state Act 1 index and approved by the Board of School Directors each year. There will be no additional costs to tax payers beyond the annual approved budget for the new school.
