RTMSD Teacher Named 2025 Teacher of the Year by the Simon Youth Foundation
Congratulations to Amanda Sheldon, named 2025 Simon Youth Foundation Teacher of the Year at the Simon Youth Foundation National Educator Conference on October 25! Simon Youth Foundation has 32 academies in 12 states, including the Simon Youth Academy (SYA) program located at Penncrest High School. The Academies give students at risk of dropping out the same education they would receive in a traditional classroom, but in a flexible environment that emphasizes one-on-one learning, personalized support and small class sizes led by compassionate teachers. In the words of the Simon Youth Foundation: "[Amanda Sheldon's] dedication to developing Social Emotional Learning (SEL) and Executive Functioning (EF) curriculum has made a lasting impact on students. She knows how important it is for students to feel safe, supported, and like they truly belong."
