We have been monitoring this week's weather forecast closely and, for the first time in many years, we are anticipating that our Halloween Parade will be impacted by rain. As of this afternoon, there is an 80% chance of rain on Thursday. As a result, we will unfortunately need to plan accordingly.
Here are the options that we have:
Option 1: If the weather forecast is incorrect, and we do not have rain on Thursday, the parade will take place on the field at the rear of the school.
Option 2: If there is some rain during the day on Thursday, but it is not actually raining at 1:45 PM, the parade will take place around the outside of the school building. Guests will be able to see the students and teachers parade from the 4th grade hallway exit, down First Avenue to Evans Blvd, around the main parking lot, and back into the building by way of the Kindergarten entrance.
Option 3: If it is actually raining at 1:45 PM, the parade will take place indoors. Parents of students in grades K-2 will collect in the gym, and parents of students in grades 3-5 will collect in the cafeteria. Parents will enter the building by way of the blacktop at the rear of the school. The students will parade through the building, including the gym and cafeteria. Given the space constraints in both the gym and the cafeteria, we respectfully ask families to restrict guests to parents only.
An email will be sent out at approximately 10:00 AM on Thursday indicating which option we will be following. Regardless of the weather, the Halloween Parade will begin at 1:45 PM.
All parents who are helping with classroom parties on Thursday will need to check in with security and obtain their passes before the Halloween Parade begins.
Please let me know if you have any additional questions.
