Glenwood Wish List for MLK Day of Service

Plans are being made for our annual Day of Service in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The Day of Service will take place on Friday, January 17, 2020. This is a full-day activity that will involve all students during the regular school day. In order to make our service projects possible, we are asking for donations of specific items and supplies. Thank you in advance for anything that you can do to assist us in planning a meaningful and rewarding day of community service for our students. Please read below for what each grade level will be doing, and what items they will need.  

Kindergarten: Students will be coloring pages to be sent to military, hospitals and nursing homes. No donations are needed for this.  

1st Grade: First grade, will be decorating brown paper lunch bags for "Meals on Wheels".

Items needed: Brown Paper Lunch Bags

2nd Grade: Second grade will be making "busy bags" for local hospitals for children to work on while they are waiting.

Items needed: Boxes of new crayons, sticker sheets, and gallon-size zip-loc baggies.

3rd Grade: Third grade will be making little care packages for the residents of Fair Acres. These will include door decorations, cards, and stuffed animals.

Items needed: New Stuffed Animals

4th Grade: Fourth grade will also be making care packages for the residents of Fair Acres. They will be decorating canvas bags and putting the items inside.

Items needed: Mrs. Gallagher (Shampoo), Mrs. Grace-Green (Body Lotion), Mrs. Barry (Baby Powder), Ms. Strawn (Body wash) Canvas Bags.

5th Grade: Fifth Grade will be making hygiene kits for the homeless population.

Items needed: toothbrushes, toothpaste, sanitary wipes, socks
