    Guidance

    Each year Penncrest High School celebrates the outstanding accomplishments of members of the senior class at the annual Senior Awards Assembly.  Scholarships and awards sponsored by individuals and community organizations are awarded to deserving students.  In order to be eligible for these scholarships and/or awards, students must complete one universal application. You can access the Local Scholarship Application on the Penncrest webpage.  The deadline to submit your application is Sunday, March 31st, at 11:59 PM. If you have any questions regarding this application, please see Ms. Stokes in Guidance.  

     

    Central League Writing Competition

    Would students participating in the Central League Writing competition please attend a very brief meeting in Ms. Dillon's room, D101, on Tuesday, March 26th.  Thank you.

     

    Student Relations

    College-bound students are invited to attend a campus tour of West Chester University on Wednesday, April 3rd. Join us to meet with an admission counselor and tour the campus. Permission slips are available from Mrs. Garvin Parks in A100 and due by March 27th.

     

    Mini-THON

    Tickets for Mini-THON are on sale at all lunches for $15!  Mini-THON will be held on May 10 from 4:30 to 10:30 PM.  Don't forget, you need to sign up at our donor drive before you buy a ticket.  Just go to donordrive.com, search "PENNCREST," and hit register.

    The Gryphon staff will be meeting today in Mr. Zervanos's room, D103.  All students are encouraged to submit their creative writing and artwork for consideration.  Please find the Gryphon envelope in your English classroom.  The deadline for submissions is also today.

    Would students participating in the Central League Writing competition please attend a very brief meeting in Ms. Dillon's room, D101, on Tuesday, March 26th.  Thank you.

    College Visits

    Attention Sophomores and Juniors! Several college representatives will be visiting the Career Center this week. Rosemont College will be here tomorrow at 11:30 am. Rosemont is a small, liberal arts college located nearby in Rosemont, Pennsylvania. Popular majors are business and marketing, and security and protective services. Two more colleges will be visiting on Thursday.  Hussian College will be here at 9:30 am and Ursinus College at 11:00 am. Hussian is a very specific two year college for art and Ursinus has an amazing Biology major. Check out their websites and sign up on Naviance!

     

    Lost & Found

    Lost and found is filling up.  If you have misplaced anything, stop into the main office and check Lost & Found for your items.  Anything that is not claimed will be donated to charity.

    University of Delaware Field Trip

    Attention any students who are thinking about the University of Delaware trip on March 22nd! This is your last chance to pick up a permission slip from Mrs. Naismith. All slips with payment must be received by the end of the day tomorrow. Don't miss this exciting trip!

     

    College Visits

    Attention Sophomores and Juniors! Several college representatives will be visiting the Career Center this week. Rosemont College will be here on Wednesday, March 20th at 11:30 am.     The Junior Optimist Club is having a bake and snack sale after school on Thursdays through Spring Break.  They will be set-up in the Roar Store until 3:30pm. Profits will go toward the Junior Optimist Club's Pride Day project. The project will be creating duffel bags for children as they enter foster care.

    The Penncrest Fair Trade Club is having a bake sale after school today. Stop by the rotunda or music wing to purchase some baked goods made with fair trade ingredients on your way out. All baked goods are $1.

    Congratulations to boys basketball team and the Dawg pound for reaching the Sweet 16 of the State tournament. We will now play state powerhouse Archbishop Wood tonight at Harriton. The game starts at 7:30.  Tickets are on sale now.

    Juniors - are you thinking about college? Would you like to spend your first semester or year abroad and still be able to graduate in four years? Verto Education may have the opportunity for you. Google it to learn more, and sign up through Naviance for the representative's visit tomorrow. The information visit will be held in Mrs. Montich's room. You must sign up in advance because space is limited to 30 students. Any questions? Ask Mrs. Montich or Mrs. Naismith.
