Recent District/Student Accomplishments

Media Elementary School students participated in the annual NAACP Black History Month Poster Contest again this year.  Students were challenged to create posters that celebrated the life and accomplishments of Black and African American inventors.  Over 60 posters were submitted to the contest.

The winners included (from left to right): 2nd Place winter, fifth grader Bea Pollock, 3rd place winner, fourth grader Andrea Strasser, and 2st place winner, fourth grader Asher Matthews.  Also pictured in Media Elementary Principal, Dr. Paula Voshell.

Springton Lake Middle School’s Video Club participated in the What’s So Cool About Manufacturing? Contest sponsored by the Manufacturing Alliance of Delaware and Chester Counties. The contest creates awareness of careers in manufacturing and allows students the opportunity to visit a local manufacturer and learn about all aspects of the manufacturing process. This year, Springton students partnered with Braskem Chemical in Marcus Hook and were awarded the designation of Outstanding Overall Video Award.
