• Rose Tree Media Distinguished Alumni Hall of Fame Guidelines

     That a Distinguished Alumni Hall of Fame be established to honor Media/Penncrest graduates who have distinguished themselves in various fields of endeavor.

    The following is the statement of purpose: “To recognize outstanding graduates of Penncrest and Media High Schools who serve as an inspiration for students of the Rose Tree Media School District.”

    That a nominating committee be formed to review and vote on candidates presented for election to this Hall of Fame.  The committee will consist of a chairperson and will include a school board member, the high school principal or designee, the head of the alumni association or designee, a parent, and a faculty member.  The other members will be selected at-large at the discretion of the principal who will also designate the chairperson of this committee.  The committee shall not exceed twelve members.

    A candidate will be eligible for induction ten years after graduation from high school.   

    That the nominating committees receive all nominations by June 1st of the nominating year.  Annual committee meetings will be held in the summer to select candidates.

    Publicity for the Hall of Fame will be coordinated through the superintendent’s office which would contact local newspapers and interested alumni, etc.

    A standard form is to be used in order to nominate candidates. (See form)

    An inductee will receive a plaque upon his induction and a duplicate plaque will also be placed in the Alumni Hall of Fame.  Each inductee will be allowed to bring five guests, free of charge, to the luncheon.  The inductee will be encouraged to bring a favorite teacher.  Additional guests are the responsibility of the inductee.

    All nominations of the Hall of Fame will be kept for five years for eligibility purposes.  Unless updated, after five years nominations will be retired.

     Inductions are to be made at a student assembly called for that purpose. Nominees who are unable to attend for three consecutive years will lose eligibility.

    Rose Tree Media Distinguished Alumni Hall of Fame nomination form will be available on the RTMSD website continually.

    All nominations are due to the responsible Penncrest High School administrator or designee by June 1st of each year.

    Current nominations will be shared with the selection committee by June 15th for review prior to selection meeting.

    Hall of Fame selection meeting will be held the last week of June of each year (unless an alternative date is agreed upon by the committee).
