    Meeting Types and Dates:

    Legislative Meetings:  Unless otherwise noted, legislative meetings are held at Penncrest High School Auditorium at 6:30 PM on the fourth Thursday of the month (third Thursday in November, December and June) and live-streamed on the District’s YouTube Channel, RTMSD Media.

    What happens at a Legislative Meeting?  Legislative Meetings are the business meetings of the Board. The agenda includes recognitions, presentations, and matters that require the vote of the School Board. Seated with the Board at the conference table are the Superintendent of Schools, the District Solicitor, the Board Secretary, who records the votes of the meeting, and Student Liaisons. All items brought before the Board for vote have been presented or discussed at the Board’s Work Sessions or Executive Session meetings.     Work Sessions: Unless otherwise noted, work sessions are held at the Springton Lake Middle School, 1900 N. Providence Road, Media at 6:30 pm on the second Thursday of each month and live-streamed on the District’s YouTube Channel, RTMSD Media.

    What happens at a Work Session? Work Sessions are the planning and discussion meetings of the Board. The Superintendent and Administration provide information regarding the management of the School District and items to be considered for approval at upcoming Legislative Meetings. At Work Sessions, the Board will also have opportunities to monitor, evaluate, and discuss the District’s progress on the Strategic Plan.     Executive Sessions: The presiding officer shall announce the reason for the Executive Session. Announcements will be made at a public meeting prior to a session or immediately after.

    What happens in an Executive Session? Executive Sessions are closed to the public. The Board is not permitted to vote on the passage of any resolution while in Executive Session. Official actions based on discussions held in Executive Session will be taken at public meetings. The Board may discuss the following matters in Executive Session:

    • Employment, personnel issues
    • Labor relations
    • Purchase or lease of real estate
    • Consultation with an attorney or other professional adviser regarding potential litigation or identifiable complaints that may lead to litigation
    • Matters that must be conducted in private to protect a lawful privilege or confidentiality

    Policy Meetings are held at 5:30 p.m. at the Education Center, 308 N. Olive Street, Media, PA and are live-streamed on the District’s YouTube Channel, RTMSD Media.
